- When you need, you need something that is necessary to survive. Yes, that is correct, we all need to eat, but the difference is, do we need to eat expensive meal at a fancy restaurant or at home instead?
- When you want, it is an optional meaning that you are still alive without the thing that you desire to have and it may or may not be able to be useful for you.
- Or on the street in Cambodia, you can find food stalls or nice coffee. Would you pay 1-2USD every single day? Imagine the amount will be hundreds of dollars in a year. What if it is once a week instead of everyday? You could save a lot of money easily.
Once you can differentiate your need from your want you will realize how much you can control yourself with your own money. Wants can change over period of time, but needs remain the same. After this you will be more aware of how much you are spending your budget.
