This is a branding article. We interviewed with our partner Sonatra Microfinance.
Spean; Could you explain the detail about each loan?
Mrs. Bopha: Consumer loans are non-collateralised loans.
Cash loan: We provide up to USD 500 to customers.
Electric equipment loan: We provide up to USD 1,000 to purchase electric equipment such as mobile or laptop etc. We provide the loan up to 100% of the value of the equipment.
Motorbike loan: We provide up to USD 2,000. We provide the loan up to 80% of the value of the motorbike. For example, if the motorbike costs USD 2,000, we finance only 80% of USD 2,000 which is USD 1,600.
SME, Individual and Bridging loans require collateral. Any loan amount is possible but normally above USD 2,000 and currently up to 250,000USD.
SME loans are for small and medium enterprises for starting up new business (e.g hair salon, clothes or souvenir sellers in the market, restaurants, café etc.) or for business improvement.
Whereas, Individual loans usually range from USD10,000 to USD30,000 for purposes such as home improvement, family farming etc. On the other hand, Bridging loans are usually 3 months seasonally.
Spean: What are points for borrowers to be careful when borrowing money?
Mrs. Bopha: With all our loan products, borrowers should be careful with their ability to pay back.
We sometimes have to decline customers because of their lack of monthly income. If they meet requirements one day, we are always happy to serve them again.
Another thing is that if they are married, the spouse should know about the loan application
